Job summary

Redtree is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to support design and development of control systems for distributed generation and district energy projects, including electric, steam, chilled water, hot water, and cogeneration facilities. This role offers 100% remote work for the United States and growth under senior discipline leads.

You will contribute across the project lifecycle from front-end design through commissioning, collaborating with process and mechanical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ABET-accredited engineering.
• 2–6 years of Instrumentation & Controls design experience.
• Experience with P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument data sheets.
• Knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA systems.
• Willingness to travel ~20% to sites.

Responsibilities

• Support I&C engineering activities across project phases.
• Develop control system architecture, I/O lists, and narratives.
• Prepare instrument data sheets and wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate P&ID development with process and mechanical teams.
• Perform instrumentation sizing calculations.
• Support hazard analyses and procurement activities.
