Job summary

Redtree Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support schematic design development, detailed engineering, and field engineering activities for power generation projects, with a focus on coal, natural gas, and gas-fired and combined cycle plants. This role spans Mid to Senior levels and offers 100% remote work across the United States.

You will lead electrical scope, develop schematics and layouts, perform studies using ETAP, and coordinate with vendors and project teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for power generation facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure (a huge plus).
• Experience with low-, medium-, and high-voltage power distribution and critical electrical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC, and utility requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical scope on project areas and coordinate with clients, equipment vendors, and internal disciplines.
• Develop electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment layouts for power generation facilities and related systems.
• Design and specify medium- and high-voltage electrical systems including switchgear, substations, transformers, protective relaying, and control systems.
• Coordinate with manufacturers to develop equipment specifications and resolve design/ procurement issues.
• Provide field engineering support during construction, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
