Job summary

Golden Gate University is seeking an eLearning Instructional Designer to design and redevelop online courses using D2L Brightspace and Edvisor.ai. You will ensure active learning, RSI, and accessibility throughout course design, collaborating with faculty and leadership to enhance online learning in the AI-enabled era.

The role requires experience in higher education, strong project management, and the ability to work on a remote, cross-functional team within Pacific Time hours.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of instructional design experience in higher education.
• Experience designing online courses with active learning and RSI.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1 AA and UDL.
• Experience in using generative AI in design and validating outputs.
• Hands-on experience building courses on Brightspace/Edvisor.ai.

Responsibilities

• Design and redevelop online courses across D2L Brightspace and Edvisor.ai.
• Review existing courses and decide what to keep, revise, replace or retire.
• Develop new content, activities, assessments and faculty materials from sources.
• Write course and weekly outcomes and align with assessments and activities.
• Organize content into clear weekly or modular structure.
• Design interactive content and ensure WCAG/UDL accessibility.
• Embed RSI in each course and test faculty presence tools.
• Build courses in Brightspace and Edvisor.ai using templates and standards.
• Troubleshoot course-level issues and coordinate with LMS support.
• Collaborate with faculty and subject-matter experts on goals and priorities.
• Evaluate courses using data and recommend improvements.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines; help update SOPs.
• Other related duties as assigned.
