Qualifications

• Associate degree required or related field.
• CHONC certification preferred (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/COC/CPC).
• Minimum of two years of academic medical coding experience; four years of coding experience required; six+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train and support new medical record coding specialists.
• Audit and ensure compliance with inpatient and outpatient coding policies and procedures.
• Code medical records and abstract information from the electronic medical record system.
