Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Certified Inpatient Medical Coder for a remote contract role. You will review inpatient records, ensure ICD-10-CM/PCS accuracy, and validate MS-DRG assignments while addressing AI-generated notes and coding discrepancies. Commitment ranges from 10 to 40 hours per week.

Required credentials include active CIC/CCS or AHIMA/AAPC certification and inpatient coding experience, with access to coding references and Coding Clinic guidance.

Qualificações

• Active CIC, CCS or AHIMA/AAPC certification.
• Strong experience in inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.
• Access to up-to-date ICD-10-CM/PCS coding references and Coding Clinic guidance.
• Currently working in inpatient medical coding or CDI.

Responsabilidades

• Review inpatient medical records for accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding.
• Evaluate clinical documentation for accuracy and coding integrity.
• Identify principal and secondary diagnoses and POA indicators.
• Validate MS-DRG assignment and flag HACs and patient safety indicators.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes against documentation and standards.
• Code AI-generated information using ICD-10-CM/PCS classifications.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies.
• Provide written feedback on coding errors and complex cases.
