Optum is seeking a Health Care Coding Specialist to join our inpatient DRG coding team. This full-time role offers a flexible telecommute option from anywhere in the U.S. with a pay range of $20–$36 per hour based on experience and productivity.

The position requires AHIMA/AAPC credentialing, 3+ years in inpatient DRG coding, ICD-10-CM/PCS proficiency, and strong Excel skills. Candidates must be able to maintain high-quality coding standards and participate in ongoing education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• AHIMA/AAPC coding certification (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC).
• 3+ years inpatient DRG coding in acute care.
• 3+ years ICD-10-CM/PCS coding with encoder.
• Proficient in Windows and Excel; experienced with EMR systems.

Responsabilités

• Identify appropriate assignment of ICD-10 CM/PCS, DRG, and abstraction for facility services.
• Maintain high coding quality and productivity per guidelines.
• Stay up-to-date with QM/Director guidance and participate in meetings.
