Job summary

OHSU is seeking a Level 3 coder to support the Enterprise Coding Department by coding inpatient services remotely within the OHSU system. The role emphasizes accuracy, denials resolution, and collaboration with CDI reviewers.

A high school diploma or GED with 4+ years hospital coding, AHIMA credential (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) and membership, and experience with Epic, 3M encoder, and spreadsheet software are required. Weekday schedule with occasional weekend makeup time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 4+ years of hospital coding experience.
• Active AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS) and AHIMA membership.
• Experience with Epic, 3M encoder, and spreadsheet software.
• Monday–Friday schedule with weekend work for overtime or makeup time.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient records at 95% accuracy and abstract information to assign correct ICD-10 codes.
• Resolve coding denials and queries with coding leads and billing.
• Stay current with federal and state regulations and collaborate with CDI reviewers.
