Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Credentialed as RHIT, RHIA or CCS through AHIMA.
• 2+ years inpatient hospital coding experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG assignment; 4–6 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform retrospective inpatient coding to ensure accurate, compliant code assignments.
• Apply ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract required data elements (admission source/type, discharge disposition, physicians).
• Collaborate with CDI specialists and Revenue Cycle to clarify documentation and support compliant reimbursement.
