Job summary

OpenTrain AI is seeking skilled inpatient medical coders to help test and train AI systems on real hospital cases. Work remotely on your own schedule, applying ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and validating AI outputs based on current coding guidance.

This is freelance, part-time, paid hourly at $50–$70, with no fixed shifts. You bring AHIMA or AAPC credentials and inpatient coding experience; we provide training on the tools and flexible, independent contractor arrangement.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA CCS or AAPC CIC credential
• Hands-on inpatient coding experience with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and MS-DRG
• Proficient English, able to work from coding guidance and MS-DRG grouper tools
• No AI experience required; training will be provided

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes
• Determine principal and secondary diagnoses and set code sequence
• Validate MS-DRG assignments by checking CA/CC/MC conditions
• Explain AI coding outputs and areas for improvement
