Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an experienced leader to oversee inpatient coding teams. You will ensure adherence to regulatory standards, drive DNFC performance, and collaborate with CDI, clinical quality, and patient financial services to maintain accuracy in the medical record.

The role requires 4–6 years of hospital coding leadership, remote team management, and strong process-improvement experience, with a focus on sustainable KPI improvements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in HIM or related field with 4–6 years of experience in hospital-based coding leadership.
• Experience managing remote coding teams and driving process improvements.
• Strong collaboration with CDI, clinical quality, and patient financial services.

Responsibilities

• Oversees inpatient coding to meet KPIs and ensure compliant practices.
• Monitors DNFC and coding work queues; develops action plans for improvements.
• Liaises with CDI, patient financial services, and clinical staff to resolve workflow issues.
• Identifies and resolves complex issues; troubleshoots remotely when needed.
• Supports strategic planning and coding/CDI steering presentations.
• Communicates effectively and leads large groups with strong leadership.
