Job summary

Duke Health seeks a Compliance Specialist within the Patient Revenue Management Organization to implement and maintain compliance programs across the revenue cycle, focusing on coding, billing, HIPAA, and government regulations. A Bachelor's degree and 4 years of revenue cycle experience are required; RHIA/RHIT/CCS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four years of administrative experience in insurance billing/revenue cycle.
• RHIA or RHIT or CCS required.
• CPMA or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate providers on government regulations (CMS, HIPAA) and compliance.
• Perform internal audits of provider documentation and coding.
• Identify risk areas in coding and billing and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to improve documentation and compliance.
• Communicate with payers and external auditors regarding policies and procedures.
