Job summary

Huron Consulting Group is seeking an Inpatient Coding Auditor to join our team to ensure coding accuracy and DRG assignments across client projects.

The role involves auditing inpatient coders, calibrating audits with offshore counterparts, and supporting reporting with clear findings. Credentials such as CCS/CIC/CDIP or RHIA are preferred, with 2+ years of inpatient auditing experience.

Qualifications

• Requires current permanent United States work authorization.
• 2+ years experience as inpatient coding auditor.
• 3+ years experience in coding inpatient hospital accounts.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint).
• Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Audit inpatient coders and offshore auditors to ensure DRG accuracy of 95% or higher.
• Perform quality checks and calibration audits per client SOPs.
• Prepare audit reports and provide direct feedback to coders and auditors.
• Monitor compliance with coding guidelines and correct errors before claims are rebilled.
• Present findings to leadership in a clear, actionable format.
