Job summary

Huron Consulting Group is hiring an Inpatient Coding Auditor to ensure accurate inpatient coding and DRG accuracy across client engagements. The role involves auditing coders, coordinating with offshore auditors, and driving quality improvements in a fast-paced environment.

The auditor reports to the Huron Managed Services Domestic Coding team and collaborates with clinical and coding staff to uphold coding standards, CMS guidelines, AHIMA/ACDIS practices, and reimbursement integrity.

Qualifications

• Current permanent United States work authorization.
• 2+ years experience as inpatient coding auditor.
• 3+ years inpatient coding experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Effective communication with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Audits inpatient coders and offshore auditors to ensure DRG and code accuracy (≥95%).
• Perform quality checks on visits coded per client SOPs.
• Conduct calibration audits with offshore counterparts.
• Provide feedback and participate in client and internal meetings.
• Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines (CDC, CMS, AHIMA, AHA).
• Assist in preparing audit reports and summarize findings for leadership.
• Support adherence to coding policies and timely corrective actions.
