Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an Inpatient Coder for a part-time remote home-office role serving Oklahoma City, OK. The coder will abstract and code inpatient records, ensuring accurate DRG assignments and timely reimbursement while maintaining high quality standards.

You will query physicians when documentation is unclear, collaborate with the HIM Director on coding issues, and keep current with coding clinics and CPT guidance. A valid AHIMA/AC CPC or RHIT/RHIA credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AHIMA coding program with RHIT/RHIA or CPC/CCS credentials.
• AS/BS degree preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code compliant, complete medical records and group to appropriate DRG.
• Code inpatient accounts with accuracy and timeliness, maintaining audit standards.
• Query physicians when documentation is incomplete or ambiguous to ensure proper coding.
• Notify HIM leadership if orders are missing or unsigned prior to discharge.
• Continue education on coding changes and participate in performance improvement.
