Job summary

Qualifications

• 2 years hospital inpatient/MS-DRG coding experience required.
• 2 years regulatory experience related to Medicare and third-party payers required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records and accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes according to established guidelines.
• Meet Productivity Standard for Inpatient Coding: 17 charts/day.
• Understand appropriate assignment of MS-DRG, POA, and discharge disposition.
• Assist with all levels of coding including inpatient, outpatient, and psych.
• Work as a team member to achieve goals for the department.
• Assist in data integrity audits and correct errors as needed.
