Qualifications

• Requires Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification.
• Requires Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification.
• Requires Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
• Requires Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD diagnosis and procedure codes for medical records.
• Complete coding within the four-day bill hold time frame.
• Follow up on accounts needing coding queries.
• Ensure quality of coding meets department standards.
