Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Oregon is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for acute care inpatient, rehab, swing bed and LTACH services. You will query physicians for documentation clarity, resolve interim coding edits, and analyze records to ensure coding accuracy.

Requires 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience and CCS/RHIA/RHIT certifications. Remote-state eligibility is noted; strong collaboration with CDI and revenue teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• 3 years of HIM inpatient acute care coding experience required.
• CCS, RHIA and RHIT certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Queries providers to optimize documentation per guidelines.
• Assigns MS-DRG and APR-DRG per regulatory guidelines.
• Mentors and trains coders; supports education initiatives.
• Ensures data accuracy for regulatory agencies.
