Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school education or equivalent; proof of highest level of education completed.
• AAPC or AHIMA certification (e.g., CAH-BS, CCS, CPC, or CIC).
• Minimum of 5 years of active coding experience in Facility Inpatient Coding.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding systems.

Responsibilities

• Review and code medical records for primary and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures according to coding guidelines and ensure accurate DRG/APC assignment.
• Abstract and compile data from medical records to support optimal reimbursement for hospital and professional charges.
