Qualifications

• Three years of continuous hospital coding experience within the last five years.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding conventions.
• Ability to interact with physicians to clarify diagnoses/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record documentation to identify diagnoses/procedures to be coded.
• Independently prioritizes work to ensure timely, compliant coding.
• Codes all diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/ICD-PCS, CPT and HCPCS.
• Determines DRG appropriateness and resolves discrepancies.
• Abstracts data accurately for submission and reporting.
• Ensures confidentiality and security of patient data.
• Meets productivity and quality standards for the role.
