BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist (Remote). This full-time, remote role requires residency in FL, GA, NC, or SC, with a Mon-Fri schedule and 7:00 AM–3:30 PM shift.

The incumbent analyzes inpatient records to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and collaborates with Clinical Documentation and Quality teams to ensure accurate MS-DRG outcomes. Qualifications

• Required: CCS certification
• Preferred: RHIT (Health Information) in addition to CCS
• 5 years Acute Care experience and 3 years Inpatient Coding

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-day, multi-specialty inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Collaborate with medical staff for accurate diagnoses (e.g., malnutrition, sepsis).
• Formulate physician queries and monitor bill hold reports; liaise with CDI/Quality teams for MSDRG, PSI/HAC reviews.
• Utilize anatomy, pathophysiology, and pharmacology knowledge for accurate coding.
• Mentor/train Coder I/II/III and clinical practice students from various colleges.
