Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an Inpatient Coder (CCS) to support one or more clients remotely. You will review medical documentation, assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures, and query physicians to clarify documentation.

This role requires CCS/RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CIC credentials, 3+ years inpatient coding, Level 1 Trauma experience, Epic experience, and a strong focus on accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced remote environment.

Qualifications

• Active CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CIC credential.
• Three years of facility-based inpatient coding experience.
• Level 1 Trauma coding experience.
• Epic experience.
• Pass the coding assessment with a score of 80% or higher.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation to code diagnoses (ICD-10-CM) and procedures (ICD-10-PCS).
• Query physicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.
• Assign accurate codes using an electronic encoder per policy and regulations.
• Perform peer reviews of coding auditors and coders.
• Complete requested reports and maintain accuracy targets.
• Maintain high accuracy and productivity in a remote setting.
• Coordinate with managers on schedules and new client procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
