Job summary

Valley Children's Healthcare seeks a Manager of Inpatient Coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) to lead inpatient coding and CDI operations across the organization. The role partners with physicians, nursing, revenue cycle, compliance, and informatics to ensure accurate documentation, optimize reimbursement, and reduce denials while improving data quality.

The position emphasizes staff development, education, performance management, and data analytics to monitor key CDI metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, or related health care field.
• CCS certification is required.
• CDIP or CCDS certification is required.
• RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Minimum five years related work experience (preferred).
• Minimum five years management experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient coding and CDI functions.
• Lead staff development, education and performance management to drive engagement and documentation improvement.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, revenue cycle, compliance and informatics to optimize accuracy and reimbursement.
• Monitor metrics (coding quality, case mix index, query effectiveness) and drive continuous improvements.
