Job summary

Valley Children's Healthcare seeks a Manager of Inpatient Coding and CDI to provide strategic leadership for accurate inpatient documentation and coding. You will oversee daily CDI operations, drive performance standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while aligning with organizational goals.

You will collaborate with physicians, nursing, revenue cycle, compliance, and informatics to optimize reimbursement, reduce denials, and improve data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in nursing, health information management, or related field.
• CCS, CDIP or CCDS certification required; RHIT/RHIA preferred.
• Minimum five years related work experience preferred; management experience preferred.
• Experience implementing a hospital CDI program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient coding and CDI.
• Oversee daily coding/CDI operations and establish performance standards.
• Partner with physicians, nursing, revenue cycle, compliance and informatics to improve documentation integrity.
• Lead staff development, education, and performance management; drive physician engagement.

CCS - Certified Coding Specialist (required)

CDIP - Clinical Documentation Integrity Practitioner (required)

CCDS - Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (required)

RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician (preferred)

RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator (preferred)
