Job summary

Nationwide, a Fortune 100 company, seeks an Inland Marine Territory Manager to work remotely with about 25% travel to engage agencies. Ideal candidates have seven to ten years in middle market underwriting and strong broker relationships, especially in Inland Marine and Builders Risk.

You will underwrite, market and manage new and renewal business within authority, drive profitability, and collaborate across lines to increase Nationwide's presence.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• License/Certification/Designation: CPCU or CIC preferred.
• Experience: Seven to ten years of progressively responsible middle market commercial lines underwriting experience preferred. Two to five years of sales and business development experience in middle market commercial lines is also preferred.
• Expertise in markets consistent with our underwriting appetite and product portfolio preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, market and manage new and renewal commercial lines business within authority.
• Drive profit and premium to meet financial goals through development, negotiation and execution of business plans.
• Lead and influence agencies through sales strategies and implementation of processes that drive new sales and retention.
• Collaborate with all lines of business to support and increase Nationwide's presence.
• Underwrite accounts based on authority level and underwriting standards.
