Job summary

Kustomer seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to build systems used company-wide. You will join the Foundation team to enhance developer experience, observability, and backend architecture including database sharding and event bus performance.

The role splits focus 50/50 between backend and infrastructure, with opportunities to mentor, lead large-scale changes, and collaborate with security and engineering leadership to drive architectural excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years experience building and managing large scale, highly available distributed web applications.
• Proficiency with IaC tools, including Terraform.
• Experience designing sharding configurations for databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own key infrastructure initiatives across the team.
• Design, develop, and improve software infrastructure and platform capabilities.
• Drive scalability, performance, and availability improvements.
• Lead security and reliability improvements in production systems.
• Collaborate with cross-team initiatives to promote engineering best practices.
