Reddit is hiring a Software Engineer for Infrastructure Engineering. This remote role supports multiple teams across the United States, focusing on reliability, performance, and efficiency of Reddit’s infrastructure stack.

You will collaborate with product, design, data science, and client engineers to deliver scalable, low-latency systems, and own the full lifecycle from design to deployment and observability. Strong distributed systems experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably distributed systems infrastructure or infrastructure security.
• Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages: Golang, Python, C++, Java.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, GCP).
• Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes to distributed messaging systems.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders across teams.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.

Responsabilités

• Cross-Functional Product Architecture: Partner with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and Client Engineers to translate needs into reliable, low-latency solutions.
• End-to-End Delivery: Own the full software lifecycle for major initiatives from design to observability.
• Metrics & Experimentation-Led Engineering: Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments using tools like BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase.
• API & System Performance: Build and maintain scalable APIs (GraphQL, REST, gRPC) and distributed backend services.
• Technical Rigor & Modern Tooling: Establish engineering best practices, improve workflows, and mentor teammates.
