Job summary

Tailscale is looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team. You will build and own core software components, focusing on observability, scalability, and reliability, while collaborating with multiple stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities include improving CD processes, building cross-functional infrastructure, and empowering internal customer-facing teams. Strong Go experience and cloud/Kubernetes familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD, secrets management, infrastructure as code and observability.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Experience with operating managed services in a cloud environment (AWS).
• Kubernetes in production experience is a strong plus.
• Go programming language experience is a plus.
• Ability to give and process constructive feedback, work independently.
• Startup environments require adaptability and collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and document core software components as part of the engineering team.
• Own running services by building observability, incident response, and customer support escalation handling.
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.
