Job summary

Red Clay Consulting is seeking a mid-level Infrastructure Engineer/SA to design, deploy, and maintain Oracle Utilities infrastructure remotely within the United States. You will collaborate with client teams, ensure system resilience, and provide on-call support for critical incidents across time zones.

The role emphasizes Linux server configuration, shell scripting, and networking with firewalls and VPNs, plus on-call availability and cost-conscious improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years configuring Linux servers (no GUI), kernel customizations and recovery.
• 5+ years shell scripting, middleware, and SQL experience.
• Undergraduate degree in a tech field or equivalent, plus Linux command-line familiarity.
• Networking with firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, VLANs, trunking, and multi-switch topologies.
• Strong written and spoken communication to explain plans to non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain infrastructure for resilient applications and tune systems.
• Track performance, security, and connectivity, diagnosing root causes.
• Plan server hardware/software work and explain plans to non-technical teams for approval.
• Provide on-call support and assist with RCC internal network and VPN connectivity.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain client-standard processes.
