Job summary

GEA Group is seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician to supervise start-up, perform maintenance, and provide warranty work across the US. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a customer-service mindset.

You will travel to customer sites, diagnose issues with compressor packages and control systems, and train users on proper operation. A high school diploma and refrigeration certification are preferred, with up-to-90% travel

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical refrigeration certification preferred.
• RETA CARO or CIRO certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with industrial refrigeration equipment required.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycle and major components.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 90%.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests and field dispatches.
• Meet with customers on-site to discuss service or repair needs.
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshoot compressor packages, electrical systems, and controls.
• Perform retrofitting of industrial control panels across multiple manufacturers.
• Conduct compressor repairs and address controls-related issues (PLC, Microlink).
• Complete routine maintenance or repair per ANSI/IIAR-6 2019 standards.
• Inspect machinery and suggest preventative measures.
• Supervise start-up and warranty work for the product line.
• Discuss work with customers and provide technical training.
• Assist departments in developing new products from a service perspective.
• Recommend improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations.
