Job summary

VikingCloud is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its international legal team in a remote role open to US-based candidates. The position is hands-on and covers commercial, technology, privacy, and employment matters, working closely with sales, engineering, operations, product, IT, marketing, HR, finance, and relationships.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited US law school and active license to practice in at least one US state.
• 1–3 years in-house experience, ideally at a tech, software, or SaaS company.
• Solid experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including technology, software, and SaaS agreements.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with experience supporting sales teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to weigh legal risk against business goals with commercially minded advice.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on contracts: MSAs, SOWs, vendor agreements and NDAs.
• Manage state entity filings, annual reports, and registered agent matters for US entities; support governance.
• Collaborate with data privacy team on privacy and data protection, including state laws and GDPR; DPAs.
• Provide day-to-day legal support to teams across VikingCloud (sales, engineering, ops, product, IT, marketing, HR, finance).
• Help build and maintain contract templates, playbooks and processes to close deals efficiently.
• Liaise with third parties (customers, suppliers, insurers, advisers) in the US and internationally.
• Work with the wider global legal team.
