Job summary

SAIC seeks a Mission Systems Engineer to support NSWC Crane’s Mach-TB program. You will lead as the primary Systems Engineer for designated hypersonic test missions, guiding requirements, design, verification, and mission execution.

Telework-eligible with ~25% travel to program sites and customers. The role requires 10+ years in systems engineering, strong writing/communication, and an active DoD Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required in a STEM field (systems engineering, aerospace, electrical, physics)
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience including requirements development and management
• Verification and validation planning and execution
• System integration and interface management
• Experience with flight test programs, hypersonic systems, or space/launch programs
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and lifecycle milestones
• Strong technical writing and communication; able to brief senior government leadership
• Active DoD Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Systems Engineer for Mach-TB missions from concept to post-mission review
• Develop and manage stakeholder requirements with traceability to objectives
• Develop and maintain Verification & Validation plans across mission elements
• Coordinate with experiment payload teams and launch providers to ensure technical alignment
• Review ICDs, interface documents, and integration procedures for compliance
• Identify and resolve interface risks across multi-mission scenarios
• Support SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, MRR reviews with actionable feedback
• Collaborate with the Mach-TB Systems Engineering team for consistency and lessons learned
