Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer to support NSWC Crane and Mach-TB programs. You will lead as the primary Systems Engineer for hypersonic test missions, managing requirements, doing V&V planning, and coordinating across payload teams and launch providers.

This role involves heavy technical leadership, government briefings, and collaboration with stakeholders. It is primarily telework-eligible with about 25% travel to program sites and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or related STEM field.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering roles.
• Experience with requirements development and management.
• Experience with verification and validation planning and execution.
• System integration and interface management experience.
• Experience supporting flight test programs, hypersonic systems, or space/launch vehicle programs.
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and program lifecycle milestones.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills; ability to brief senior government and program leadership.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead the primary Systems Engineer for assigned Mach-TB missions across the lifecycle.
• Develop and manage stakeholder requirements with traceability from objectives to design.
• Develop and maintain Verification & Validation plans and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate technical integration between experiment payload teams and launch providers.
• Review ICDs and integration procedures for technical quality and compliance.
• Support mission reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, MRR) with actionable feedback.
• Act as technical point of contact for government customers and sponsors.
• Collaborate with Mach-TB Systems Engineering team to share lessons learned.
