Job summary

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, seeks a Legal Assistant to support its Florida General Liability Defense team. Hybrid in Tampa or Fort Lauderdale, or remote within Florida for the right candidate.

You will provide essential administrative and litigation support, organize cases, and help attorneys through the life cycle of matters. Ideal candidates are proactive, highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced law firm.

Qualifications

• Provides administrative and legal support to attorneys handling general liability defense matters in Florida.
• Prepares, formats, proofs, and revises legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other case-related documents.
• Opens new matters, maintains case files, and organizes electronic and physical documents.
• Coordinates court filings, including electronic filing in Florida state and federal courts.

Responsibilities

• Manages attorney calendars, schedules meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation events.
• Monitors court deadlines and maintains accurate calendaring and docketing systems.
• Assists with discovery coordination, organizes documents, tracks requests and responses, and maintains production materials.
• Prepares deposition, hearing, mediation, and trial materials and exhibit binders.
• Coordinates communications with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, vendors, and other contacts.
