Job summary

Covenant Family Solutions LLC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct care for medication management clients and support to Nurse Practitioners. The role may be remote, on-site, or hybrid in Iowa, with travel up to 5%.

You will support a multidisciplinary team, manage medication-related tasks, document thoroughly in the EHR, and coordinate with pharmacies and referral sources to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Two years of experience in behavioral health preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems.
• Willing to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Answer medication management line and direct calls.
• Take medication concerns and relay to provider.
• Process medication refill requests with providers.
• Speak with pharmacies about prescriptions.
• Obtain information from referral sources as guided by NP.
• Provide community resource information to clients.
• Observe Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) with provider guidance.
• Assist with Prior Authorization as requested by provider.
• Assist with GeneSight tests per provider request.
• Assist with height/weight measurements on-site.
• Assist with vital signs (BP, pulse, O2) on-site.
• Conduct weekly Medication Sample Inventory.
• Respond to and send faxes.
• Assist with releasing information for outside records.
• Collect completed assessment tools and notify providers for scoring.
• Verify client information in EHR and update as needed.
• Complete discharge information in the EHR when requested by NP.
• Track client communication in EHR.
• Upload lab results to the EHR.
• Assist providers with external paperwork (FMLA, referrals, etc.).
• Attend clinical and operational meetings.
• Coordinate with call center and admin teams for seamless communication.
• Other duties as assigned.
