Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to support the Midwest region from a remote setting. You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations to translate customer needs into optimized HVAC equipment configurations and compelling technical proposals.

This role focuses on large-scale, non-standard projects with an emphasis on cost efficiency, performance, and regulatory compliance. You will lead complex submittals, sizing, and quotes, ensuring pricing accuracy and margin

Qualifications

• HVAC system knowledge and applying engineering skills.
• Experience with HVAC design software (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize Applied HVAC equipment selections based on project specs.
• Ensure all quoting, sizing, and equipment specifications align with customer requirements and standards.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and technical improvements in system selection.
• Stay informed on industry trends and competitor strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Develop and refine detailed technical proposals and quotes for complex projects.
• Ensure pricing accuracy, margin optimization, and compliance with discounting strategies.
• Support sales teams in presenting technically sound, competitive solutions.
• Prepare, review, and approve final technical submittals.
• Work with sales and project teams to identify scope gaps and risks.
• Maintain records of project costs, configurations, and approvals.
• Provide technical guidance to sales and support teams.
