Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Substation Design Engineer to design and layout high-voltage substations, ensuring reliability and compliance with standards. You will collaborate with engineers, support project documentation, and drive continuous improvement across projects.

The role involves preparing layouts, wiring, and equipment specs, coordinating with multiple teams, and supporting proposals with technical clarifications and vendor evaluations. A PE path is valued. Remote work is possible in some cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSEE preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Execute all technical aspects of AC power substation projects under the guidance of a Lead Engineer.
• Work on high voltage substation general arrangement and layouts, plan and elevation drawings, BOMs and equipment.
• Coordinate overall design with other disciplines and provide single line drawings and schematics.
• Write equipment specifications and process vendor quotations for substation equipment.
• Collaborate with sourcing and project team on technical matters to meet specs, cost, and schedule.
