Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to support, drive, and implement user-centered research across VA digital health projects. You will work on a cross-functional team to elicit user needs, craft validated workflows, and produce wireframes and artifacts for development.

Remote within the United States with travel for onsite research as needed. Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience, strong communication, and familiarity with

Qualifications

Foundational understanding of human-centered design and user experience principles, applied in professional or academic settings.
Experience supporting qualitative research activities such as interviews, focus groups, observation, or usability testing, including note-taking and synthesis.
Ability to produce and maintain design research artifacts such as journey maps, personas, process maps, affinity maps, or wireframes.
Familiarity with Mural or comparable collaborative whiteboard tools and willingness to develop expert-level facilitation skills in Mural.
Working familiarity with accessibility requirements, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.2, and willingness to deepen that knowledge.

Responsibilities

Supports HCD and HFE studies using methods like interviews, focus groups, observation, card sorting, journey mapping, empathy maps, and usability testing.
Develops and maintains HCD artifacts such as journey maps, personas, and wireframes.
Coordinates recruitment and participation for research activities in collaboration with VA leads.
Supports field testing, UAT, pilots, and related logistics and SOP creation.
Monitors accessibility conformance in research reports and product designs.
