Job summary

WRS Health is seeking a Human-Centered Design (HCD) Manager to bridge user needs and technical execution for its cloud-based EHR and practice management solutions. You will lead user research, map journeys, and guide prototyping and usability testing to improve safety and efficiency in clinical workflows.

In a remote role, you will mentor designers, align with Agile teams, and ensure accessibility and HIPAA-compliant research while delivering measurable product impact.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Human-Centered Design, Human-Factors Engineering, Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, or related field.
• Experience: 3–6+ years in HCD, UX design, or user research, including enterprise or regulated industries.
• Technical: Prototyping tools (Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD), qualitative research methods, usability testing, Agile/Scrum.
• Accessibility: Working knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG standards in practice.
• Core competencies: Empathy, storytelling, analytical problem solving, defend design decisions with data.
• Portfolio: End-to-end research, synthesis, prototyping, measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead contextual inquiries, interviews, field observations, and surveys with clinicians, staff, and patients.
• Translate insights into personas, journey maps, and system workflows.
• Facilitate cross-functional design workshops and build wireframes and prototypes.
• Plan and moderate formative and summative usability tests.
• Partner with product managers and engineers in Agile teams to maintain design integrity.
• Mentor designers and researchers and scale the HCD function.
