Job summary

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) IT Services seeks an HR & Safety Data Engineer in Olympia, WA to design, build, and maintain HRIS and Safety data pipelines, ensuring secure, high-quality data engineering and automation.

You will ingest and transform data across Workday, HRMS, and safety systems, develop ETL/ELT pipelines with SQL Server, SSIS, C#, PowerShell, and Python, and support SSRS/Power BI reporting for operational and strategic analytics.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering secure, high-quality business systems.
• Build and maintain HR, HRIS, and Safety data pipelines.
• Design, build, and maintain HRIS and Safety datasets with SQL views and stored procedures.
• Ingest, transform, reconcile, and publish data across Workday, HRMS, Safety platforms, and ITS applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain curated HR, HRIS, and Safety datasets, including SQL views, stored procedures, validated models, and structured extracts.
• Ingest, transform, reconcile, and publish data across Workday, HRMS, Safety platforms, and ITS applications (e.g. Total Time).
• Build validated datasets and reporting models supporting SSRS/Power BI dashboards for operational and strategic analytics.
• Maintain documentation of data lineage, definitions, and mappings.
