livingHR is a remote-first professional services firm providing HR managed services and payroll solutions to clients nationwide. We are seeking a Manager, HR & Payroll to lead payroll operations and HRIS implementations across industries, in a client-facing, contract/fractional capacity.

This hands-on role requires multi-state payroll expertise, data integrity, and proficiency with HRIS platforms such as HiBob, Dayforce, Rippling, UKG, Paylocity, Workday, or ADP.

Qualifications

• 5+ years running payroll and HRIS/HCM systems.
• HR Generalist or HRBP background with broad lifecycle exposure.
• Experience working with clients in consulting, professional services, or agencies.
• Hands-on admin experience with core HRIS and payroll platforms.
• Deep knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance, tax, and wage/hour.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing across applicable states with accuracy and compliance.
• Lead HRIS/Payroll system implementations and integrations.
• Maintain the core HRIS platform, workflows, permissions, and data integrity.
• Develop dashboards and reporting to support workforce planning and OKRs.
• Advise clients on HR and payroll best practices and compliance requirements.
• Partner with People teams to translate process needs into system design.
