Job summary

WFSE is seeking a Human Resource Consultant 3 (HRC3) for the Employee and Organizational Support Division – Training and Development Unit in Monroe, WA. This is a permanent, full-time transfer opportunity eligible for telework under Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.

The role requires facilitating training to large audiences, with at least two years of adult training experience and prior corrections-related work. Certifications must be attained within a year, and statewide training needs must be met.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to present and facilitate training in front of large audiences.
• Two years' experience involving the teaching/training of adults.
• Two years' experience working in a corrections-related field including working with incarcerated individuals / or those under agency jurisdiction.
• Ability to instruct or to gain the skills and experience to instruct all Training & Development Unit designated training for all DOC staff.
• Ability to attain and maintain required certifications within one year of appointment.
• Ability to respond to training needs statewide with minimal notice.
• Accept high level of personal and professional responsibility and accountability.
• Consistently demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality as well as flexibility in work schedule.
• Proven ability to work effectively in an operational unit that values professionalism, diversity, collaboration, integrity and continuous quality improvement to instructional quality and customer service to students and stakeholders.
• Demonstrate competence to execute expert level organizational and functional skills.
• Possess skills and experience to garner respect from peers and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team-oriented working environments that includes interaction with incarcerated individuals or those under agency jurisdiction.
• Ability to work effectively with basic computer programs in addition to emerging technologies that improve training delivery.
• Ability to be adaptable to change; contribute in productive and innovative ways to meet agency training needs.
• Serve as a professional representative of DOC to the public.
• Dress appropriately for the position.
• Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment: Certified Defensive Tactics instructor, to include Tasers (within 12 months of appointment).
