Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a part-time Human Resources Business Partner to support employee relations and investigations in a fully remote role within the United States.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in HR, business, or psychology with 8+ years of HR experience, and strong investigative, analytical, and communication skills. SHRM-CP/PHR is a plus. Flexible work arrangements and regulatory compliance focus offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or psychology or commensurate experience.
• Minimum 2 years in HR with exposure to employee relations, investigations, or compliance.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and HRIS platforms.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations matters and workplace concerns.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding company policies and practices.
• Support conflict resolution and facilitate effective communication.
• Assist with disciplinary actions, performance discussions, and corrective actions.
• Identify trends and recommend proactive employee relations solutions.
• Conduct and support investigations into policy violations and misconduct.
• Gather evidence, review documentation, and witness statements.
• Prepare summaries and recommendations for HR leadership review.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure fair, objective investigations.
• Partner with legal, compliance, and leadership teams as appropriate.
• Audit HR records and processes for compliance with laws and policies.
• Assist with external audits and compliance initiatives.
• Support HR projects, workforce planning, and organizational changes.
• Maintain accurate and timely case management documentation.
