Job summary

Fort Worth Housing Solutions seeks a Housing Counselor in Fort Worth, TX to qualify clients for housing assistance and manage special programs. You will conduct interviews, verify information, calculate subsidies, and coordinate with landlords. Strong communication and data-management skills are essential.

Responsibilities include re-certifications, preparing reports, and providing case management while ensuring program compliance and timely processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social science, public administration or related field with two years’ public or social service experience.
• Knowledge of grant funding, housing programs and asset management is a plus.
• Experience with housing eligibility, client assessments and reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview participants for re-certifications and determine continued eligibility.
• Calculate HAP amounts, tenant rents and utility reimbursements.
• Prepare monthly caseload reports and maintain client files.
• Provide case management to clients and coordinate with landlords and agencies.
• Maintain records, complete annual re-certifications, and ensure timely actions.
