Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Coder I - Hospital Coding for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range is $26.11 – $39.17 per hour, with the hiring rate dependent on education, training, experience and other factors.

The role codes outpatient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, reviews documentation for accuracy and supports reimbursement, research and compliance with payor regulations.

Qualifications

• Accredited program or equivalent education to perform coding.
• Formal coding certificate/education preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of coding experience.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Ensure specificity of diagnoses and appropriate reimbursement for hospital and professional charges.
• Abstract information from medical records following established methods.
• Identify problem documents and coordinate corrections with submitting departments.
• Review and correct claim and code edits as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
