Job summary

Verisma is seeking a Remote Release of Information Specialist (ROIS) to initiate and manage the ROI process using Verisma Software. The role supports clients on-site, at client facilities, or remotely, reporting to the Manager of Operations, Release of Information.

You will process ROI requests, ensure accuracy, and maintain HIPAA compliance while delivering excellent customer service. The position offers flexible remote options and opportunities to train and grow within the department.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 2+ years of medical record experience.
• 2+ years of clerical/office experience.
• Experience with general office equipment including scanner and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and state release regulations preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Input data into Verisma Software to initiate the ROI process.
• Process ROI requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Utilize Verisma software applications for processing requests.
• Support resolution of HIPAA-related release issues.
• Organize records and documents to complete ROI workflows.
• Read and interpret medical records, forms, and authorizations.
• Provide exemplary customer service in person, on the phone, and via email.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies.
• Attend training sessions as required.
