Job summary

Christus Health is seeking a Manager of Health Information Management Coding to oversee daily coding operations and support remote coding associates in achieving performance targets. You will report to the Director of HIM Coding Operations and collaborate with stakeholders across the system to ensure compliance with CHRISTUS standards and AHIMA/AAPC guidelines.

The role requires leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a track record in healthcare coding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in health information management or related field is required.
Extensive knowledge of health information management functions including ICD-10/PCS, CPT, MS-DRGs, APCs.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to billing and coding.

Responsibilities

Lead and coach remote coding associates and staff to meet performance metrics.
Analyze audit results and drive improvement opportunities across coding operations.
Ensure adherence to AHIMA/AAPC, CMS, and JCAHO guidelines and CHRISTUS policies.
Coordinate training and education for staff and non-coding personnel on documentation and coding standards.
Monitor coding and billing reports to optimize workflows and reduce errors.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support coding integrity and revenue cycle initiatives.
