Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a Manager HIM Operations and Coding to provide leadership for HIM operations and coding services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will drive staffing, productivity, and compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and payer rules while partnering with Revenue Cycle, CDI, and IT leadership to optimize documentation and reimbursement. This role requires strong clinical coding expertise and strategic operational oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CPC and CCS or CIC certification required.
• RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS and hospital reimbursement.
• Experience leading coding and HIM operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for HIM and Coding functions, including staffing, productivity, scheduling, payroll, and performance management
• Oversee inpatient and outpatient coding operations while ensuring compliance with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements
• Manage HIM functions including chart completion, deficiency management, release of information, document imaging, and record integrity activities
• Partner with Revenue Cycle, CDI, Revenue Integrity, Patient Financial Services, and Patient Access teams to improve DNFB performance and reduce revenue leakage
• Support coding audits, compliance initiatives, vendor oversight, Meditech Expanse implementation activities, and operational improvement projects
