Job summary

CEG Solutions is seeking a Higher Education Business Development Executive to lead regional sales growth in colleges and universities. The role emphasizes a consultative, solution-based selling approach across multiple states, with remote work from anywhere in the U.S.

You will interface directly with clients, coordinate with engineering teams, and drive revenue through strategic partnerships and ROI analyses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of complex sales and/or business development in the higher education sector.
• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven ability to build internal and external partner ecosystems for customer acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and execute a regional sales growth plan in the higher education market.
• Use a Solution Sales process to qualify & disqualify complex opportunities for robust results.
• Spearhead next stage of BD activities, driving sector-specific sales strategies that increase revenue, branding, and impact.
• Serve as direct client interface on all projects, leading meetings/presentations and negotiating contracts.
• Develop relationships with and identify the technical needs of potential partners across organizational levels.
• Coordinate internal engineering resources to evaluate sales recommendations, managing site audits, cost-savings calculations, and ROI analyses.
• Represent CEG and identify emerging energy sector trends at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
• Articulate benefits of infrastructure modernization and energy approaches to drive savings and optimization.
• Use a disciplined sales and market development process that relies heavily on financial drivers.
• Working knowledge of the emerging energy market and current public sector market drivers.
