Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch company, seeks a High Voltage Project Manager to lead HV substation and interconnection projects in the Midwest portfolio. You will guide EPC contractors, review engineering deliverables, and drive execution from engineering to commissioning.

The ideal candidate has an Electrical Engineering background and HV design/construction experience. Travel ~50% within the U.S.; visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Experience managing HV substation, transmission, interconnection, or utility infrastructure projects.
• Experience reviewing HV drawings, specifications, studies, and construction deliverables.
• Knowledge of substation design, construction practices, protection and control systems, and interconnection requirements.
• Experience managing EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and cross-functional project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of industry standards including NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of high-voltage substation and interconnection projects from engineering through commissioning and closeout.
• Drive project performance by managing scope, schedule, budget, risk mitigation plans, and deliverables.
• Influence EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
• Lead technical reviews of substation engineering packages, protection and control designs, equipment specs, and drawings for quality and constructability.
• Review and provide direction on HV design documentation, studies, and deliverables throughout the lifecycle.
• Champion safe execution by ensuring compliance with standards and electrical codes.
• Monitor contractor performance and resolve issues to adhere to contracts and technical requirements.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress, risks, and resolution of challenges.
• Collaborate with teams to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies protecting schedule and budget.
• Communicate status, opportunities, challenges, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
• Support procurement for major HV equipment and materials while guiding technical/commercial decisions.
• Identify continuous improvements and drive best practices across DEPCOM's substation portfolio.
