Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch company, is seeking a High Voltage Project Manager to lead HV substation projects across the Midwest portfolio. Remote within the U.S.

with ~50% travel, you will drive EPC performance, review engineering deliverables, and guide projects from engineering through commissioning. The role requires an Electrical Engineering background, HV design/construction experience, and a track record influencing stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience managing HV substation, transmission, interconnection, or utility infrastructure projects.
• Experience reviewing HV engineering drawings, specifications, studies, and construction deliverables.
• Knowledge of substation design, construction practices, protection and control systems, and interconnection requirements.
• Experience managing EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and cross-functional project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of standards including NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI.
• Valid driver's license.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of HV substation and interconnection projects from engineering through commissioning.
• Drive project performance by managing scope, schedule, budget, risk mitigation plans, and key deliverables.
• Manage and influence EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead technical reviews of substation engineering packages, protection and control designs, equipment specifications, and drawings.
• Review, evaluate, and provide direction on HV design documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Champion safe execution by ensuring compliance with standards and electrical codes.
• Monitor performance, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
• Conduct site visits and field assessments to evaluate progress and identify risks.
• Partner with engineering/construction teams to identify risks and develop mitigations.
• Communicate project status and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
• Support procurement activities for major HV equipment and materials.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities across DEPCOM's substation portfolio.
